The 6994th Security Squadron held its 2019 reunion at the Marriott Hotel, Cool Springs, TN, September 5-7, 2019. These United States Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) veterans provided airborne radio reconnaissance intelligence from the EC-47 aircraft deployed to seven locations in Vietnam and Thailand during the Vietnam War. Squadron reunion planners organized three full days of activities to help veterans keep their friendships, war stories and family relationships alive. They enjoyed a golf day at Temple Hills Country Club on Thursday, and a lively visit to a professional recording studio where they participated in recording the "Epic Ride-A Tribute to the 6994th" audio CD on Friday morning. Friday evening offered transportation and tickets to the Grand Ole Opry 7 pm performance. The annual meeting, photo sessions and evening banquet were held at the hotel on Saturday. Posting of the Colors by the AMVETS Jerry Reed Music City Post 1776 Honor Guard and recorded playing of the National Anthem opened the evening program. Williamson County Mayor, Rogers C. Anderson, presented his county Proclamation followed by a 50th Vietnam War Commemoration video that included an update on the EC-47 History Site Commemorative Partner Program committee events. Officers from the Franklin Old Glory Chapter of the DAR presented commemorative lapel pins to fourteen squadron veterans. The reunion was well attended and enjoyed by everyone involved. Plans are being made for the 2020 event to be held in Biloxi, MS.
